At your first visit to our office, we will ask you to complete a comprehensive health history form which the dentist or hygienist will review with you. Depending on your age, risks of disease and symptoms, the dentist may recommend x-rays.
The dentist will perform a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth looking for any signs of disease or other concerns.
Our goal is to help you maintain good oral health and to prevent any problems from becoming serious by identifying and treating them as soon as possible.
Why do I need to have x-rays?
Radiographic (x-ray) examinations provide the dentist with an important tool that shows the condition of your teeth, presence or degree of periodontal (gum) disease, abscesses and abnormal growths such as cysts or tumors. X-rays also show the exact location of impacted and unerupted teeth and pinpoint the location of cavities and other signs of disease that may not be possible to detect through a visual examination.
